Costs...

With more hours of individual therapy than any other program in the U.S.A. done by licensed personel, in a location as plush as the Marriott OCEANVIEW, plus dining out every evening, you would think we would have to have an over the top price!?

Your treatment is an investment....just like a college education....but, you never have to spend money on misery buying drugs and alcohol again! maybe have job problems, legal problems and or losing relationships.....divorces, etc. Compared to any and or some of those this will be the best money you have ever spent....on a beach! Add up what your "habit," has cost you thus far....figure an average life expectancy of 65 to 85 and what your continuing habit will cost. 

Compare that to $8500-$15,500, spent ....at the Marriott, on the beach, soaking up RECOVERY.  Programs in the United States can run as low as $3500 to as much as $45,000 or even more for the celebrity programs. Even the celebrity programs don't offer the clinical qualifications provided by Life Matters.

Life Matters from May to mid-October can usually keep the cost close to the $8500 number. The Marriott costs a whole lot less, Recovery Coaches and Clinicians have less work and can be contracted more economically, and the demand for our services doesn't pile up with "snowbirds."

We control costs by eliminating billing and collection expenses. We take cash, wire transfers and bank checks. Half must be in hand by the Tuesday, prior to the Sunday start. The balance can be paid by cash or bank check on arrival. This insures that contractors get paid something and the Marriott can be canceled. We don't take insurance but we will help you bill your insurance company. Insurance companies do not look upon us as a 28-program and will only reimburse for individual therapy. But then we don't take up twenty eight days of your time! in a dormitory setting!

We also tell you how it is. Marketing costs in this business add thousands to every patient's treatment. To be in the top ten listings on a page like "Addiction Treatment," with Google is about $50 per click....Treatment centers bid for position on those pages just to have you click on their website. In order for us to keep costs down we have to rely on referrals. We keep our web site and promotion materials modest, and our office expenses to a minimum.

You won't find a better clinical value dollar for dollar anywhere in the country! Even the poshest places simply don't have on staff nor "within their neighborhood," the licensed twelve step experienced personnel available to man their numbers with the daily individual hours of therapy we provide to a single individual. The whole insurance based 28 day approach is first and foremost an abstinence based approach, that is a "serve your time approach", versus a medical clinical approach.

Life Matters, Inc has also tried to offer the same quality of clinicians in less expensive surroundings with some success for people who live in the area. However, as concentrated as our therapy is, and given the tension inherent in such introspection and self appraisal, our success rate of 85% seems to prove necesity of the "Marriott program."  The counter force of the tranquility of the sea, with the morning sunrise, the luxury of a steak grilled as you like it, the going to a good restaurant at night and the peace of your own king size bed and a good soak in your own whirlpool tub after your chosen physical exercise balance the emotional and mental exertion demanded. Because, we are going to go at hard all day from Sunday to Friday.

What if you "just don't have the money."  RAISING MONEY

• One woman said, " I don't care if we have to mortgage the house. I have to get help.' Can you babysit the kids while I am gone for a week. Easier than gone for a month! And what kinda of mom would she be without the help...
• "I will have to take a cash advance on my credit card." Shop around. Care Credit will offer no interest loans provided the balance is paid in full over varying periods, typically 12-24 months.
• Transfer balances to lower interest cards which can be done for a small transaction fee. Some promotions then offer up to a year interest free.
• Go to a bank or credit union and get a traditional loan.
• Some retirement plans allow penalty free withdrawals for medical emergencies and/or provide a time period for pay back.
• If you lost your job due to your addiction, or dual diagnosis or both who would you turn to....ask them for help. Put it in writing.
• Offer the time you spent on your habit to do elder care, or child care to finance the pay back on your borrowings.
• Go to your church, synagogue, or community support groups for "scholarships."
• Get a less expensive car. Sell your.......(gold, jewelry, second car...yes one teacher became a one car family...but kept her teaching career!)
• Downsize your living arrangements, rent, rent a furnished room, get a sober roomate! Live in a half-way house...that is what they are for!
• Go bankrupt but start anew clean and sober. Some persons start anew with a felony or two! Some persons have so many DUI's, or worse legal problems from their use!
• Turn to your Higher Power, or the God of Your Understanding and ask for the resources you need perhaps not to drop money from the sky but for the wisdom and direction you need, and the courage to follow through with the tough financial commitments that go hand in hand with a commitment to a lifestyle change that only therapy can provide.  Life Matters, supports a spiritual program, not a religious program. Many of our patients and their families have come to believe that the 'Serenity Prayer,' is a life saving tool.
